5 Housewarming Gifts for First Time Homeowners

 I love housewarming gifts! One of my favorite moments in the home buying journey is the moment I get to hand my buyers their new keys and their housewarming gift. It symbolizes the start of a new beginning, a new home, a new life. There are so many good moments ahead of them in their new home and being able to give them something new to start their home on the right foot is very precious to me! I take a lot of caring in selecting each item I gift to my clients. Here are some of my favorites! 

Mrs. Meyer's Cleaning Products

Mrs. Meyer's products are my favorite cleaning products. A. They smell amazing (Basil and Radish are my top two picks for housewarming gifts every time.) B. They are good for the environment. C. They are good for you! No more potent cleaning products is a win in my book. 

Welcome Mat

Nothing says "Yay, you're home!" like a welcome mat! Target is a great place for seasonal and trendy welcome mats. Little tip though, most of these welcome mats get very heavy when they are wet so I recommend only giving them to those that have a cement stair/patio or a covered deck. Otherwise it'll dry rot the deck planks under it.

Bottle of Bubbly

I always love supplying a bottle of bubbly for the happy homeowner(s) to pop open when I hand the keys over! Celebrating a milestone is important in creating the memory of this moment and I want all my new owners to remember what it's like to get the keys to their first home. 

Candles

Have you ever walked into an Anthropologie  and smelled that heavenly smell? The smell of a freshly lit, Capri Blue candle in an Anthro store can draw me in from halfway across the mall. Some candles are polarizing but I feel like everyone who has smelled this candle loves it. 

Amazon Prime Membership

After you've spent a few days settling into your new home you start to realize a few things that you need - a paper towel holder, paper towels, painter's tape, some organizing boxes, and you just can't seem to find the laundry detergent. Amazon Prime is the perfect gift to give new homeowners so they can focus on unpacking instead of running around.
