Holiday in RVA Guide 2017
Who's ready for the long holiday weekend?! Me too! It's been a busy season and year thanks to my wonderful clients and I can't wait to celebrate the season with family and friends this weekend.I know many family members come into town for several days between Christmas and New Years and eventually you need a little out-of-the-house time. I get it. So I've put together a few fun things you can get out and do around Richmond this holiday weekend and into next week.
GardenFest of Lights
Get a little exercise while you check out the nightly lighting and holiday activities at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens. Dominion Energy puts on an awesome display of "over half-a-million twinkling lights." This is one I'm planning to take some of our family friends out to because it's festive and it lets them see one of Richmond's most popular visitor spots.Cost: $13 for Adults/$8 for Children
Outdoor Ice Skating
While you're out doing some last minute shopping or maybe making a few exchanges pop by one of Richmond's outdoor ice skating rinks. There are two options located near two Richmond's most popular malls - one at Stony Point Fashion Park if you're on the Southside of Richmond or the West Broad Village ice rink if you're in the West End/Short Pump area.Cost: Averages about $10 a person + $5 Skate Rental
Family Friendly New Years Eve Party
Have some kiddos in town? Check out Upton Alley for a family friendly New Years Eve countdown party. This day-time celebration is perfect for including the kids in the NYE festivities since the kids' prize drawings and treats are at 3 pm and the family balloon drop is at 4 pm. See their family package here. It includes pizza, bowling, soft drinks, party favors, and a bottle of sparkling cider or champagne.Cost: $119 for a family of four
NYE Beer and Arcade Games at Circuit
Yep, you read that right, entertain the family with beer and arcade games! Get out and have a good time this on NYE with the adults of the family (21+ only) at Circuit, the new arcade and beer tap brewery in Scott's Addition. Play 50 arcade games, serve yourself (yep, no line at the bar!) from 50 beer taps, and dance into the new year with a DJ.
