Prepping your home to put it up for sale can feel instantly overwhelming. As soon as you get that "prep list" back from your REALTOR® you may start feeling instant regret on deciding to put your home on the market. Getting your home listing ready doesn't have to be so terrible though. I have a few products that can help with the clean up and preparation of your home before you even pack your first box. 1. Folex Instant Carpet Spot Cleaner
Carpets are one of the number one areas of concern when I tour a home with a buyer. If you've ever been into a model home sales office you'll also hear sales people play up this fear to help sell one of their homes. "Carpets are gross. Pet stains, odors, finger nails..." Yeah, all that comes up in buyers' minds too. If you can remove any major stains in your rugs and carpets before showings start it can save you some negative feelings or feedback. The Folex Instant Carpet Spot Cleaner is one of the best spot carpet cleaners I've seen. (Psst: This is also great for furniture!)

2. Extended Dusting Pole
It can be hard to get up into those tall ceiling corners or even up to those second story windows outside. To be honest, once you live somewhere for a while you start to not notice certain things. A quick sweep around (and outside) the house can help you quickly clean up any stray dust or cobweb you see. I personally bought this extendable cobweb duster to help get those crazy cobwebs from our second story windows.

3. Bar Keepers Friend Soft Cleanser Premixed
I am not a fan of glass stovetops. They are one of the hardest surfaces to keep clean and unfortunately one that gets the most action in the kitchen. We have one in our kitchen and Bar Keepers Friend is the only thing I have found that can cut through the burned on oil and food remanence. To get your stove top squeaky clean before showings this is the product you want.
4. All Purpose Caulk
This is one the cheapest and easier but most missed fixes in listings. Sometimes you live with something so long that you don't notice it anymore. I'd say those tiny separation lines on your trim, baseboards, or crown molding are one of those. Dap All Purpose Acrylic and Silicone Caulk is one of my favorite caulks to use as it's good for most interior products, the white is a true white, and it's easy to add and then wipe up. Plus the screw cap is a huge perk over the typical caulks you see contractors using. Grab one of these and a damp microfiber cloth and your in business for a quick fix on that separating trim.

5. Rubbermaid Cleverstore Clear 30 QT Storage Container
One of the first tips I give to my sellers is to de-personalize their home before putting it on the market. The best trick I have is to walk around and put everything that you don't need in the immediate future and that would be deemed personal (photos, mail, artwork, etc.) and put them in one of these Rubbermaid Cleverstore Clear Containers. You'll be packing in no time anyway and these containers will help you store your most valuable possessions before the big move.
