Favorite 5: Farmhouse Decor to Give Your Home Joanna Gaines Style
Was the finale of Fixer Upper the worst thing to happen to you since you realized being an adult meant you actually had to pay bills? I grew up with in a restored farmhouse so the black metal, linen, and wood has always appealed to me but Fixer Upper took it to a whole new level! Since buying our home I've been trying to figure out how to add a little more farmhouse style to our not-so-farmhouse home. These are my favorite Amazon pieces I've found so far.
Black Plug-In Wall Sconces
I'm slightly obsessed with these. It's in my plan to add them to our master bedroom asap. The best part? They're plug-in sconces! So no advanced electrical skills needed. You just have to be decent at measuring and hanging things.
Fiddle Leaf Fig
The decor item that every designer, even Joanna, is obsessed with - the Fiddle Leaf Fig. This is one of the best looking ones, comes pre-potted, and is supposed to have a pretty real feeling trunk. Update coming soon!
Sauder Night Stand
Lighter oak and driftwood/gray colored wood are a big part of the modern farmhouse trend. The second I can convince my husband that we need a king bed, which means we need new bedroom furniture, we'll be ordering these!
Black Leaning Ladder
This is going in our new farmhouse inspired guest bathroom instead of a traditional towel rack. I don't know why I'm so opposed to the standard towel bar but I find this more intriguing, more farmhouse like, and it has great reviews and is a good price point.
Tassel Wool Rug
A neutral, tassel rug ties together a modern farmhouse room - living room, bedroom, office - and this one reminds me of one of the beautiful ones designed by Joanna herself.
